Without loosing the will to live, here's my essential lessons and advice on renovations.
My dad was a builder, and then he later retrained as a building surveyor. He was constantly building things, extending rooms and knocking down walls. Growing up on a revolving building site has meant that renovations have never daunted me. In fact, quite the reverse, and I love nothing more than the knock down stage of a renovation, especially when I get to raise the sledgehammer myself.
Saying that, I realise that not everyone was blessed to have been brought up knee-deep in plaster dust. So here’s my top lessons and advice on renovations.
