I love hosting at Christmas, and it’s the one day of the year that I enjoy spending hours and hours at our dinner table, from daylight to nigh time. Here’s my favourite finds for the Christmas table, that can be used all year round
Tablecloths
I adore vintage tablecloths as shown above, or beautiful linens layered and mismatched. A great place to start are charity shops or vintage homeware shops such as Soap and Salvation. If you haven’t got time to source, here’s my favourite high-street and web based finds that you’ll be able to use all year round.

Tableware
We love mix and match tables, and nothing too uniform. We love to mix and match tableware of the same colours, or tones with vintage pieces added and collected over time. We adore these plates that we have just listed. They’re 1940s Villeroy & Boch and we love the ribbed sides in contrast with the amazing blue that you can only achieve with vintage pieces.
For beautiful creamware plates also try Straw London, and for the most amazing serve-ware pieces try Bettina Ceramica. We adore our Gigli Pedestal bowl by them and love to make flamboyant trifles or Eaton Mess in it as a real show stopper.
Decoration
I’m a real neutral fan, with pops of colour type of person. I love adding random flowers, berries, and dried fruit to a table. And I absolutely adore scattering our table with our candle holders, ceramic fruits and baubles. They really do brighten up most tables. Last year we used shells that Art found on a beach and turned them into salt and pepper pinch pots. Everyone commented how adorable they were.
We hope you’ve got some ideas, and we look forward to seeing your creations.
As always any likes, shares and comments really do go a long way on this platform and help us to keep going. We really do appreciate it.
